What kinds of injury matters does Pactum handle?

We work primarily with individuals who have been injured in road accidents, at the workplace, or through the negligence of another party. If you are unsure whether your situation falls within our scope, the initial review is precisely the right place to explore that.

How long does an injury claim typically take in Malaysia?

It depends on the nature of the matter. Insurance settlements can sometimes be concluded within a few months; litigation can take considerably longer. We provide a candid timeline estimate at the outset of any engagement, and we revisit it with you whenever circumstances change.

What should I bring to the first consultation?

Anything you have to hand — a police report, medical letters, photographs, correspondence with an insurer. If you have nothing, that is fine too. The first session is about understanding what happened; we can identify what documentation will be needed from there.

How are your fees structured?

Each engagement has a set fee that is explained clearly in the engagement letter before work begins. The initial review is RM 680. Insurance and settlement engagements are RM 1,400. Full litigation engagements are RM 2,150. We do not add costs without discussing them with you first.

Is what I tell you in the consultation confidential?

Yes. Legal professional privilege applies from the moment we begin speaking. Nothing you share with us in a consultation will be disclosed without your express consent, subject only to narrow legal obligations that we would always explain to you in advance.

Do I need to decide immediately whether to proceed after the review?

No. The initial review is a standalone service. You leave with a written summary and our assessment of your position. There is no obligation to engage further, and we will not follow up unless you ask us to.
